IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - 5v5 division coming for the 2024 EFFA outdoor season

The Edmonton Flag Football Association is excited to announce the addition of a 5v5 Flag Football division for the 2024 season! This is in addition to our already popular 7v7 format.

This will include a women's division as well as a men’s division. Secure your spot with a deposit, first come first served. 

Here is some general information for the new 5v5 division in the EFFA.

• Fees for teams this upcoming season are $1500.
• Teams are required to maintain an additional $200 performance bond throughout the season. The performance bond will be used for any fine payments that may occur throughout the season. The remainder of this performance bond will be returned to teams at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
• All payments (including deposits) must be made by e-transfer, certified cheque or money order and made payable to the “Edmonton Flag Football Association”.  Cash and personal cheques will NOT be accepted.  E-transfers need to be sent to effa@effa.ab.ca.
• Schedule will be in July and August (including playoffs if your team qualifies).
• Games will be played on Mondays.
• The rules and style of the game will resemble Olympic Flag Football with a few minor adjustments.
• The EFFA fields are located southwest of 23rd Avenue and Saddleback Road.
• Recommended you have a minimum of 10 committed players with 14 being the optimal number.
• You need matching and numbered t-shirts for your first season and jerseys by season two.  Either the t-shirts or jerseys must be long enough to be tucked in.
• All teams must use EFFA sanctioned flag belts which can be purchased from the league.
• New teams qualify for a discounted rate of $150 for a team set of flag belts (15 individual flag belts in any combination of M/L/XL sizes).
• Weekly statistics updated on the web.
